Matrix Remedial Ties

Wall ties are an essential structural part of a building which secures the outer leaf to the structure. When ties fail due to corrosion or the building movments, then Matrix Remedial Wall ties are an integral part of the repair.

Matrix Remedial Ties are supplied in 316 stainless austenitic steel in 6*, 8, 10* mm diametersin lengths of 200, 220, 245 and 270* to suit most Australian walls.

Remedial Tie

Methods of installing Matrix remedial Ties.

The type, length and thickness of the tie is determined by the nature of the project and the condition of the bricks and mortar. Direct insertion of the tie provides excellent results where the brick and mortar are in good condition. Where bricks are soft or in poor condition a wet fix solution should be carried out. This involves drilling a larger hole through the outer leaf and into the inner leaf. Two methods are available to attain a good result. The first involves injecting Matrix Grouting mortar into the inner leaf, insrting the tie and then injecting the Matrix grout into the outer leaf. The second is similar but requires the use of a sleave inserted into the hole, and filled withmortar, before the tie is inserted.

SDSPT3

The Power Tool 3 is equiped witha SDS tool holding fixture for standard percussion drills and hammer drills.

By means of these tools, Matrix Remedial Ties with diameters of 6,8 and 10 mm are driven in directly into pre-drilled holes , up to a length of 300mm.

A special countersink drives the Matrix Remedial Tie up to 7mm more deeply into the material. This enables you to close the drilling opening perfectly when completing the job.
